HD Academy: Day 8- Graduation day

School is over and I can now call myself a "certified" professional make-up artist! Yey! This day was very tiring but yet so fun. I will surely miss my batchmates. :'(

For our finals, we were required to create two looks for 1 model: a bridal makeup look and an avant garde/high fashion makeup look.

 Random pictures... :)

Miss Stef, coloring Heather's hair using airbrush! I was like.. WOAH! :)
(Heather's dream finally came true! Tuwang tuwa ang bata sa galak!)

SUPER FUN FUN FUN DAY! :) I miss you all!

The finish product! :) Photographed by: Jeave Gabiana || Hair by: Christephanie Sing || Model: Heather de Leon || MUA: Ehmjay Bornales

Notes: I must say that HD Academy is truly one of the finest. This school rocks and if you really want to learn and be professional, you should try here out! :)

HD Academy: Day 1-Day 7

Hey everyone!

I was MIA these past few days because I took makeup class at HD academy. The class schedule was mon-thurs for 2 weeks, from 11am to 3pm. I tried to update my blog during those days, but I'm always tired right after the class. lol. Forgive me again. :)

I chose HD not only because they're cheaper than the other well-known makeup schools but also because of the positive feedbacks I read about them; Askmewhats, Shen's Addiction, Animetric, The Beauty Addict.

What I love about HD:

- they're hands-on ( they will teach you the step by step procedure and will guide you all through out)
- the staffs are very friendly
- they provide models

It's worth paying for, no regrets at all! Very professional teachers (Jeave Gabiana and Stef Sing) yet they make sure that we're still having fun while learning. I will surely miss HD and my batchmates! :) I'm planning to take their airbrush class next year! yey!

I'll show you some pictures taken during our class. Warning: There will be a lot of pictures!! :))

Day1: No make-up look (sorry I wasn't able to upload the before picture)

Day2: Simple make-up look (proper contouringn and conceiling)

Day3: Men's and older women's makeup look (they discussed what are the do's and dont's in doing the older women's makeup)

(Honestly, this was the very challenging part. I hate doing older women's makeup because I find it very complicated.. but congratulations to me! I did it! :O Sir Jeave intentionally gave her to me. ;p)

Day4: One Tone Smokey Eyes makeup look for B&W photography

Day5: 3-tone Smokey Eyes makeup look ( We were taught as well on how to create cat's eye. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take a picture.)

Day6: Avant Garde

(the look was inspired by Misschievous)

Day7: Wedding makeup look

I'll post my graduation day on my next blog! :)

REVIEW: Maybelline Mascara in Falsies

Hey everyone!

I'm not a big fan of mascaras because my lashes are short and thin and tend to fall or break everytime I remove the product. Until I became a make-up artist and these mascaras started to be as my life savers especially if I forgot to bring any fake lashes. I've been searching for a good mascara that wont compromise my budget. When my friend bragged how wonderful maybelline's mascaras are-- not to mention that I've read a lot of awesome reviews about it, I hurriedly went to Watson's and took one of their best sellers.

So I got...

Maybelline's mascara in FALSIES
 Lashes not curled.

Pros:

- spoon shaped brush that scoops the lashes up and gives a look like it was curled
- has miniature fibers that helps with lengthening the lashes
- affordable (P449); yes it's cheap for me, since you will really get what you paid for
- cute purple packaging! :)
- easy to remove using eye make up remover; no worries for me!!
- no irritation

Cons:

- may clump a bit if you use too much

Overall:

I was impressed! I love maybelline's mascaras now and will try more from their line. This mascara gave me the volume and length that I want in an instant. The wand made the application easier. I recommend this to all the girls who wanted to achieve falsies-like lashes!

Have you tried any of Maybelline's mascaras? Share it!

REVIEW: Ever Bilena Matte Lipstick

Hi everyone!

oday, I will be reviewing Ever Bilena's Matte lipsticks. Honestly, I'm not a fan of matte lipsticks simply because it dries out my lips easily. But since I need it for my gigs, I decided to get some not only for me but also for my clients. There were a lot of varieties to choose from but I only bought 3 because those were the only stocks I found useful.

I got here Scarlet, Off Beat Pink and Skin.

Pros:

- it has tiny pot of lip gloss to give moisture on your lippies (2in1 huh?)
- affordable; its price is P155.
- lasted 3-4 hours (not bad at all)
- locally available
- the black packaging doesn't look cheap, though its lighter than the usual pricey lipsticks
- pigmented and smooth

Cons:

- since it's matte, it can easily dry out your lips so be sure to damp lip balm first
- there's a smell that I don't really like but that doesn't bother me too much

Overall:

This is great for locally-made product. I love how it works and glides easily on my lips. I would like to recommend this to those ladies who want to "save" rather than "spend". For me, this can be somehow a good dupe for MAC matte lipsticks. I might gonna try mauvey once I found one.

Have you ever tried any Ever Bilena matte lipsticks? Share it!

HAUL: Maybelline, Etude House, Fanny Serrano, etc.

Hi everyone!

Last Tuesday, I bought some items from SM Fairview (yeah, it's way too far from Pasig, but I'm with my boyfriend and he lives there.. so, I have no choice! Just kidding. LOL). The reason I bought quite much because next week, will be the start of our class at HD Academy- a good excuse so I can shop right?! :))

(T-B) ELF eye primer & liner sealer, Fanny Serrano 2-way cake in silk, Maybelline falsies, Nichido (I forgot the shade), Etude House brow pencel #2, Nichido lip liner (forgot the shade as well), Ever Bilena Extreme lipstick in pink-a boo, Ever Bilena matte lipstick in skin, off beat pink and scarlet.

Finally, I was able to purchase a primer! I've been wanting one since then but always forgot to buy.I'll be posting some reviews maybe later or tomorrow about Ever Bilena's Matte Lipsticks.

Do you have any products you can suggest? Please share!
